Driver slams into six cars while on some sort of drug

PHOENIX -- Police say one driver is to blame for six hit-and-run collisions on Phoenix roads Monday afternoon.

It began when a woman, identified as 29-year-old Kristen Rowley, of Gilbert, was driving a grey luxury sports car on State Road 51. She reportedly hit another vehicle on the eastbound side of I-10 at Washington, exited and then headed westbound on I-10. A police officer spotted her at 5th Avenue and I-10 where she struck a third vehicle.

Rowley came to a stop after hitting a Nissan pickup at 19th Avenue and 1-10. That collision caused a chain reaction collision between the pickup and two other vehicles.

Two victims were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and six vehicles had to be towed.

Rowley was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Investigators tell 3TV the suspect was on "some sort of drug." She is currently at St. Joseph's Hospital but will be booked on hit and run and DUI charges.

Police say they were not in a pursuit with the suspect but were trying to find the vehicle after receiving numerous 911 calls from citizens and victims.

Records show Rowley's driver's license was suspended in the fall due to an unknown driving citation.
