Arizona's jobless rate falls to 8.9 percentPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Arizona's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell four-tenths of a percent in November, bringing the state's latest jobless rate to 8.9 percent.
The national unemployment rate for November dipped slightly to reach 10 percent.
The Arizona Department of Commerce says the more than 12,000 nonfarm jobs gained in Arizona during November marks an improvement from the same figure a year before. Arizona lost 19,000 in November 2008.
Nine of the state's 11 economic sectors experienced job gains last month. The biggest gains came in trade and transportation, professional and business services, and the hospitality business.
