KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) -- Specialized interpretative signs along an Arizona stretch of famed U.S. Route 66 didn't make it two years before they were shot by vandals.

The signs are located about three miles north of Golden Shores in northwestern Arizona.

Bureau of Land Management Recreation Planner Bruce Asbjorn said the interpretive signs at the Historic Route 66 kiosk will cost close to $2,000 to replace.

The incident is under investigation.

BLM would like to hear from anyone who may have information about the vandalism by calling BLM Law Enforcement at 602-679-8119.
