Police remove 27 dogs from Sierra Vista homePosted: Updated:
SIERRA VISTA -- Sierra Vista police served a search warrant on a residence Tuesday and seized more than two dozen dogs suspected of suffering from neglect.
Detective Nick Lamay said a total of 27 dogs were taken from the residence.
He described the living conditions as highly questionable for the animals as well as the people.
Citing the ongoing investigation, details about the conditions the animals were kept in are not being released. However, Lamay did say the dogs were not kept in cages.
No charges have been filed and no one had been taken into custody as of Tuesday.
Animal control officers became suspicious of neglect issues after repeated contact with the individuals who claim ownership of the dogs.
