Graffiti taking a toll on Valley man's business

CHANDLER -- A Valley business owner says vandals have not only damaged his property, they've damaged his business.

Jerry Goins rents out construction equipment. Several pieces of his equipment were spray-painted with graffiti about two weeks ago near Gilbert Road and Chandler Heights in Chandler.

Goins passed out fliers in the area, offering a $1,000 reward.

But he says his business is going under because of the spray paint.

“I can't rent them because people don't want them on the job because it's an invitation for people to do it again," he said.

Goins did call the Chandler police, but so far there are no leads.

It will cost him $40,000 to get all of the equipment repainted -- money he says he just doesn't have right now.
