Teens, parents to pledge no texting while drivingPosted: Updated:
TEMPE -- We all know texting and driving is a dangerous combination. Now Valley teens and their parents are publicly pledging not to do it.
They'll add their thumbprints to a giant pledge banner that's making its way across the country in an event coordinated by Allstate Insurance Co.
According to the insurance company, car wrecks are the No. 1 killer of teens each year. More than three-quarters of those crashes are caused by driver error and distractions like texting.
Allstate's Thumbs Up Pledge banner will be at Tempe Marketplace today, 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
