Woman beaten, held for hours in Prescott hotel roomPosted: Updated:
PRESCOTT – A man is behind bars after a woman was repeatedly assaulted in a hotel room in Prescott Valley.
The 48-year-old victim told police she was friends with the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Angelo Tornambe. The woman had reportedly agreed to help the suspect move some of his belonging out of his home on December 7.
Tornambe was planning to stay one night at the Days Inn in Prescott Valley. The suspect and victim were in the hotel room when Tornambe allegedly made sexual advances on the victim. She tells police she rejected his advances and pushed him away. That is when, according to the victim, he became very angry and struck her numerous times.
The suspect then took the victim’s cell phone and keys and did not let her leave the hotel room. The victim says she was assaulted on and off by the suspect for over 10 hours.
The woman drove to an urgent care medical facility when she was allowed to leave the hotel room on December 8. She also suffered multiple facial injuries.
Detectives issued a search warrant on the hotel room and collected evidence related to the case. The suspect had refused to speak to investigators prior to them executing the search warrant.
Tornambe was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping, attempted sexual assault and assault.
