CHANDLER -- Chandler police think it was natural causes or an accident that led to the death of a 75-year-old man found in a fountain in front of a $1 million home Wednesday morning.

Chandler police spokesman Detective David Ramer told The Associated Press it appears the victim had an accident or a medical issue, fell into the fountain and hit his head. Ramer said the victim apparently cracked his head and wasn't able to get out of the fountain.

Ramer said witnesses told police the victim had been drinking, but it's not clear if alcohol played a role. The medical examiner will be checking the victim's blood alcohol level.

Police have not yet released the name of the victim pending notification of family.

The home is located in a golf resort area in the 3800 block of South Clubhouse Drive.

Ramer said the investigation is ongoing.
