MESA -- A  vacant Mesa motel went up in flames early Monday morning.

Crews were called out to the SanDee Motel on Main Street near Power Road at about 3 a.m.

While crews said it looks like somebody had been living in the office, they did not find anybody inside.

Because the motel is vacant and no lives were in danger, firefighters were defensive for most of the morning.

No injuries were reported.

It's not yet known what sparked the fire.
