PHOENIX -- Police arrested three people for spraying graffiti at homes and businesses in Maryvale.

Officer Luis Samudio with the Phoenix Police Department said the three suspects are part of a tagging crew that has committed numerous graffiti acts in Maryvale neighborhoods.

Investigators conducted a four-week investigation that led them to Julio Chavez, 21, Angel Martinez, 19, and a 14-year-old boy.

Samudio said several items of evidence were found at the suspects' homes, which linked the suspects to the criminal damage incidents.

According to investigators, the suspects sprayed their name monikers at numerous locations between 43rd and 75th avenues and Thomas Road to Highland Avenue, which also helped police identify them.

Samudio said the suspects caused several thousands of dollars in damage.

All three suspects will be booked on several felony criminal damage and graffiti charges.
