SURPRISE -- Surprise police arrested an 18-year-old for an armed robbery at the CVS pharmacy at Litchfield and Greenway roads on Nov. 3.

Police say Anthony Fontana, of Surprise, entered the pharmacy holding a paintball-type weapon and demanded that the clerk "give him something." When the clerk refused, Fontana fled on foot into a residential area.

After surveillance footage of the robbery was released, police received numerous tips, leading them to Fontana.

On Monday, Fontana was taken to the Surprise Police Department for questioning where he admitted to the crime. Fontana was booked on one count of armed robbery.
