Phoenix infant dies of injuries received from falling TV

PHOENIX — An 11-month-old girl has died of her injuries the day after a television set fell off a dresser and landed on her.
It happened in a home near 22nd Street and Cactus Road Monday evening. Investigators say the girl's 2-year-old brother was changing channels on a 17- or 20-inch TV when it fell off its desk-type stand.
The children's parents and another 8-year-old son were home at the time.
Firefighters were performing CPR on the girl when they loaded her into the ambulance, and she was said to be in extremely critical condition.
Police say there does not appear to be any wrongdoing; it was just an unfortunate accident.
Phoenix firefighters say this is the third TV to fall on a child in the past three weeks, and remind parents to secure their television sets.
