ASU's downtown campus sees big increase in enrollmentPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Arizona State University is reporting a big increase in the number of students taking classes at its downtown campus.
New numbers show the campus has 42 percent more students compared to this time last year.
Nearly 7,000 students took at least one class there this fall.
The increase is encouraging for businesses in the area.
The university's downtown campus opened in the fall of 2006 thanks to more than $200 million in bond funding.
