US Airways cutting jobs, flightsPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- US Airways announced some big changes.
The airline will cut flights and about 1,000 jobs starting next year in a plan that will leave it focused on its four key hubs.
The airline says the job cuts will happen in the first part of 2010 and will include passenger and ramp service workers, pilots and flight attendants.
Once the changes are made, US Airways will do most of its flying through four hubs in Philadelphia, Phoenix, Charlotte, N.C., and Washington.
It will drop flying in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Wichita, Kan., and it's trimming Las Vegas flights from 64 departures per day to 36.
