Man accused of killing ex-girlfriend at hotelPosted: Updated:
TEMPE -- For the second time in Maricopa County history, a murder suspect is set to be prosecuted even without a body available as evidence.
Christopher Russo was indicted for first-degree murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault charges for the alleged murder of his ex-girlfriend at a hotel near Interstate 10 and Baseline Road in July.
Russo was recently arrested in California and is being held there until he can be extradited to Arizona.
According to sheriff's deputies, Russo allegedly found his ex-girlfriend in the hotel with another man who was assaulted and then threatened.
Russo reportedly killed the woman, cleaned up the room and dumped her body somewhere.
