Chandler to stop offering marriage licensesPosted: Updated:
CHANDLER -- If you're thinking of getting married in Chandler next year, you'll have to go elsewhere to get a marriage license.
The city will soon be putting a halt on offering marriage licenses.
Chandler says it's all a budget issue.
The city has offered the service for more than a decade, but a city spokesperson says it costs more to provide the service than the city collects.
A marriage license costs $72, but the city only receives $1.50 of that fee.
Maricopa County will continue offering marriage licenses at other locations throughout the Valley.
