Cyclist hit by car during SOMA Triathlon

TEMPE -- A bicyclist was injured Sunday during the SOMA Triathlon bike ride.

According to Tempe police, a driver trying to make a right turn at Priest Drive and Rio Salado hit the man.

The cyclist suffered a broken leg, as well as scrapes and bruises.

The woman behind the wheel of the car was cited. Police said she was not impaired at the time of the wreck.
