PHOENIX -- Police have identified a man who was found shot to death inside a car early Sunday morning.

The discovery was made just after 4 a.m. in the area 16th Street and Baseline Road. Police said people who live in the neighborhood were awakened by gunfire.

According to Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department, Jashua Scott Flores, 29, hd been shot multiple times and was found in a black Buick Park Avenue parked in front of a home. While Flores did live nearby, Crump said that at this point, investigators do not think that home where the car was parked is connected to the incident.

Police are not sure what led up to the shooting and have not yet determined if it was gang related. Investigators do not have any suspect information.
