Arizona gas prices rise for 1st time in 6 weeksPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- After five consecutive weeks of lower gasoline prices, Arizona drivers are paying more at the pump this week.
Triple-A Arizona officials said Thursday that the current statewide fuel average for regular unleaded gasoline at the pump is $2.441 per gallon, an increase of more than 1 cent from last week.
The nationwide average is at $2.616 per gallon of unleaded, up nearly 13 cents from last week.
Triple-A says only New Jersey at $2.438 per gallon has a lowerstatewide gasoline average than Arizona right now.
Tucson drivers continue to pay the least for fuel in the state with an average of $2.222 per gallon of unleaded, while Flagstaff motorists are paying the most to fill up with an average fuel price of $2.677 per gallon.
