Lake Havasu councilman issues apology over remarksPosted: Updated:
LAKE HAVASU CITY -- A Lake Havasu City councilman has issued an apology for a controversial remark he made during a meeting Tuesday evening as the council was preparing to fire the city manager.
Lee Barnes said he used poor judgment and a poor choice of words when he made reference to people of the Jewish faith being good money managers.
Barnes said he regrets his comment and is sorry if anyone was offended.
Mayor Mark Nexsen called on Barnes to apologize to the community. He referred to Barnes' statement as "inappropriate."
