Witnesses: 2 men lucky to escape house firePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Witnesses say two men narrowly escaped an early morning house fire Wednesday.
A neighbor living in the area of 21st Avenue and Grovers Avenue first noticed a flames at about 1 a.m.
Firefighters said they had a hard time battling blaze because of the home's structure and flammable materials that had been used for an extension.
While fire crews believed the home was vacant, neighbors claim several people had been squatting there.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the fire.
