Where can I get a flu shot?

Posted: Updated:

The first wave of some 70-thousand H1N1 nasal mists trickled into Arizona earlier this month, but the second large wave has yet to arrive due to a back-up at the drug manufacturers.  The State says that by January some 200 million doses will be delivered nationwide. That means if you're a healthy adult, you can expect your turn around mid-December.

Currently, the H1N1 vaccine isn't the only hard to find shot    around the valley. Doctor offices and pharmacies are also running short on the seasonal flu vaccine and Doctor Karen Lewis of the Arizona Department of Health Services says it all boils down to supply and demand.

Upcoming Flu Shot Clinics:

Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, with the support of Maricopa County Department of Public Health, conduct a vaccination exercise in the form of a walk-up clinic offering free seasonal flu shots for adults.

Open to the general public age 18 and older. You do not have to be a resident of Chandler or Gilbert to participate in this exercise or receive a vaccination.
