2 Adults injured after school buses collide

PHOENIX -- Two Glendale Union High School District buses were involved in an accident in northwest Phoenix Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred at 47th Avenue and Country Gables Drive.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, a full-size school bus T-boned a special-needs school bus, which then hit a parked car.

The larger bus grazed a telephone pole and ended up in a front yard.

The 51-year-old male driver of the full-size bus was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A driver, a driver's assistant and three adult special-needs students were on the second bus. A 21-year-old male student was taken to a hospital as a precaution. The other two students, ages 19 and 21, were treated and released to their families.
