Qwest customer says company owes her moneyPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A Phoenix woman says her phone company owes her money so she contacted 3 On Your Side for help.
We're talking about Qwest and a big promotion they had going on not long ago.
As part of that promotion, Qwest customers were supposed to get, among other things, a $100 check, but Millie Hendricks says she never did get that check.
"I like my TV," Hendricks said. "I like my service."
Hendricks likes her TV service with Qwest despite the fact that she's been battling the company for nearly six months and the fight, she says, is exhausting.
"Enough is enough," Hendricks said.
Her issue all stems from a promotion Qwest was offering. If Hendricks agreed to bundle her Qwest services, she would get $50 off her first bill, a $50 Visa card to spend however she wanted and a $100 check.
Well, Qwest gave her all of that except that $100 check.
Every time she called Qwest to inquire, she says they would tell her the check is in the mail.
So, Hendricks turned to 3 On Your Side for help.
"Well, I finally did that because I was so frustrated I didn't have anywhere else to go," she said.
According to Mark Molzen, a Qwest spokesman, the company actually did mail Hendricks a $100 check -- twice. But each time, he says, the Post Office returned it as undeliverable.
"It could be the wrong address or zip code," Molzen said. "We are trying to get to the bottom of it to get our customer the refund check."
Regardless, Molzen says they have mailed Hendricks a third check and if she doesn't get it this time, Qwest makes a big promise to 3 On Your Side.
"In the event we can't get it through, the United States Post Office won't deliver it, I will run the check out to her myself just to make sure she gets what we promised her," Molzen said.
It looks like Qwest just might be hand delivering that check because it was mailed out last week and Hendricks says she still hasn't received it.
I have no doubt, though, that Qwest will live up to its word and I certainly appreciate them looking into the matter for me.
