GILBERT -- A motorcyclist was badly hurt in a hit-and-run wreck in Gilbert, and thanks to a helpful witness, the suspect was caught.
it happened Thursday night at the intersection of Higley and Germann roads.
According to investigators, the motorcyclist was stopped at a red light when a car slammed into the back of the bike. That vehicle plowed over the motorcyclist and dragged the bike for about 300 feet. The driver took off.
Police said an extremely helpful witness provided and very detailed description of the vehicle that hit the motorcycle, helping them track down the suspect.
Investigators believe alcohol might have been a factor in the wreck.
The condidtion of the motorcyclist was not immediately available.
