PHOENIX - A Department of Public Safety officer stopped a Chevy pick-up for a moving violation and ended up making a drug bust.

On October 1, the officer used his narcotics canine to sniff the outside of the vehicle.

The canine alerted the officer to something and a search of the truck led to the discovery of a half pound of meth hidden in a potato chip bag on the rear seat.

The estimated street value of the meth is estimated at $9,500 dollars.

Enrique Orozco, 36, and Vanessa Concepcion Gaxiola, passenger, 27, both of Tucson, were arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail on charges of possession and transportation of dangerous drugs.

The couple was on their way to Phoenix from Tucson.
