H1N1 vaccine to arrive in Arizona todayPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The first shipment of vaccine for the H1N1 virus, also known as the "swine flu,' is expected to arrive in Arizona today.
Yesterday, health-care workers in Indiana and Tennessee became the first in the country to get the vaccine.
Arizona is receiving nearly 70,000 doses of the vaccine, that's about 10,000 more than originally expected.
County health departments will decide how the first doses, which are in nasal spray form, are distributed. In Maricopa County, they'll go to health workers only. In Coconino County, they'll go to pediatricians' offices and hospitals.
The second shipment of vaccine is expected to arrive by the end of the month.
