PRESCOTT VALLEY -- Two Prescott Valley students are facing criminal charges after they were hospitalized for taking another person's prescription drug.

On Thursday morning, a teacher at the Bradshaw Mountain High School West Campus reported a student possibly having a seizure.

The 14-year-old boy was observed drooling heavily and was unresponsive, according to Sgt. Brandon Bonney with the Prescott Valley Police Department.

The student was transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Phoenix Children's Hospital in Phoenix for additional care.

The school resource officer investigated the incident and learned that the teen had possibly taken numerous pills reported to be Soma, which is a prescription muscle relaxer.

Security personnel found another student who was exhibiting signs of impairment. The officer interviewed the 15-year-old boy and learned that he had also taken multiple pills.

The two students are friends and Bonney said there is no information at this time to indicate other students took the pills.

Both students have pending criminal charges for possession/use of a dangerous drug on school grounds.
