A person can also Google flu/cold prevention with essential oils and get a ga-zillion sites to read over.
I like Dr. Oz's site and the CDC website that list all the things a person should do to prevent catching or being contagious with a cold or flu. Both sites say pretty much the same thing, although Dr. Oz goes into more detail. Those two sites are:
There is another site that has a Swine Flu Prevention Guide that is pages long and has all kinds of information. It is:
All three sites (and a bunch others) talk about how colds and flu spread and what they recommend to combat it as much as possible.
Four Thieves Oil Blend
Combine equal portions of each essential oil together.
1 part eucalyptus
1 part rosemary
1 part cinnamon
1 part clove
1 part lemon
Put oils in colored glass or plastic container. The colored container keeps the essential oils from losing their potency. Add to carrier of your choice which can include counter top cleaners, liquid soap, air mist, and/or wipes.
Four Thieves Counter Top Cleaner
2 cups water
1/2 cup vinegar, white distilled
1 tsp castile soap
3/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
1 tsp Four Thieves Oil Blend
Combine in spray bottle. Shake before each use.
Four Thieves Wipes
Purchase scent-free wipes. Put a few drops of Four Thieves Oil Blend on four to six wipes. Store in ziplock bag. Carry in purse or put in children's lunch boxes. You can also cut a wash cloth in quarters, dampen one of them, put a few drops of the blend on it and store in ziplock bag. These cloths can be washed and reused.
Four Thieves Liquid Soap
8 oz. scent-free liquid soap (I use Trader Joe's Liquid Glycerin Soap)
2 oz. water (if the soap is a little thick)
1/2 tsp. Four Thieves Oil Blend
Combine all ingredients in a container that works for you. This can be used in bathrooms and kitchens as a hand soap and dish soap.
Four Thieves Air Mist
Yield: 4 ounces
3 1/2 oz. water, distilled or filtered
1/2 oz. witch-hazel
1/2 tsp. Four Thieves Oil Blend
In 4-ounce bottle, mix in water and witch-hazel and Four Thieves Oil blend. Shake well before each use.
