PHOENIX - Police are searching for a driver who ran into a family of four, killing a 4-year-old girl.

A Valley mother was pushing a stroller and walking with her two other kids across 43rd Avenue near Virginia Tuesday night when all four of them were struck by a car. Police said they were in a dark area and not in a crosswalk.

The 25-year-old woman, a 10-month-old girl, and a 6-year-old girl are in the hospital with serious injuries. The 4-year-old girl died at the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

Police describe the suspect's vehicle as a 1995 red or maroon Dodge Stratus or a Plymouth with a partial license plate of 522. However, police aren't sure if it's an Arizona plate. The vehicle would have front-end damage.
