Infant dies after being put down for nap in bathtubPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - An infant has died after being left in a bathtub.
Parents of the eight-month-old Phoenix boy say they placed their child in an empty bathtub for a nap while they were having a family party yesterday afternoon.
The child was left alone for nearly half an hour. When the parents checked on him, he was found underneath water.
"We're not exactly sure, how water could be turned on, but we've seen it before, kids, eight to 10 months can crawl, reach up to turn on water or it could possibly have been another sibling," Captain Alex Rangel. "Other children we could see there, were three to six years old."
Paramedics rushed the boy to Saint Joseph's hospital in extremely critical condition. He died on Monday afternoon.
