Lawsuits challenge Ariz. school funding systemsPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Two new lawsuits challenge major aspects of Arizona's school funding system.
Both of the lawsuits filed Tuesday in Maricopa County Superior Court are backed by the Arizona Charter Schools Association, and one of the suits says it's unconstitutional that district schools receive more state funding per student than charters.
The second lawsuit contends that state funding is unfairly distributed among district schools.
