SCOTTSDALE -- Two people were injured in a car wreck in Scottsdale, and an alleged red-light runner might be to blame.

It happened just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Hayden and Camelack roads.

According to police, the driver of a Nissan apparently ran a red light while turning left onto westbound Camelback Road.

The driver of a Honda slammed on the braked to avoid hitting the Nissan and spun into pedestrian on the sidewalk before slamming into a pole.

The pedestrian and the man in the Honda both suffered serious injuries and were taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn. They are expected to recover.

The driver of the Nissan was not injured.

The intersection was restricted for about an hour while police investigated and crews cleared the wreck.
