PEORIA -- Maricopa County sheriff's deputies converged on a Peoria construction reclamation company Thursday morning to serve a search warrant as part of an ongoing employer-sanctions investigation.

Deputies believe Berardi Enterprises, located near 83rd and Olive avenues, hires undocumented immigrants who might be engaging in identity theft, which is a Class 4 felony.

Aerial video showed more than a dozen sheriff's vehicle arriving on the scene at about 7:30 a.m. Employees of the company reportedly started arriving for work at about 7 a.m.

Berardi Enterprises, which, according to the company's Web site, has been in business since 1971, specializes in grading, hauling and trash-removal services, as well as swimming pool demolition and fill-ins.

Details will be updated as they become available.
