PEORIA -- Nine students at a Peoria elementary school reported feeling ill after a small chemical spill Thursday morning.

According to police, a small jar containing formaldehyde and a snake fell from a cabinet in the science room at Oasis Elementary School at 79th and Sweetwater avenues.
Mike Tellef with the Peoria Police Department said none of the students had contact with the fluid, however, nine children were complaining of headaches and nausea.
The students were treated at the nurse's office and did not need to be taken to the hospital.
Tellef said a few children were given oxygen at the school.
The school contacted parents.
