Father scares away 2 juvenile burglars with his gunPosted: Updated:
CHANDLER - A father was notified of a burglary in his home and went in and scared off the would-be robbers.
Police say they received a call at about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday about a burglary in progress in the 800 block of W. Elgin Road.
A 13-year-old boy was in the home alone when he heard knocks at the door. He did not answer the door and two suspects forced their way into the home.
The teen was able to run to his neighbor's house who then called police.
After calling police, the boy's father came back to the home after dropping of his other son and was notified about the burglary.
The father entered his home, located his gun and took one suspect into custody. The second suspect jumped from the second story of the home and tried to flee the scene.
Officers were able to find the second suspect.
The two suspects are juveniles so their names and mug shots will not be released.
