BeDillon's Restaurant

800 N. Park Avenue
Casa Grande

Besides being the hands-down best restaurant in the middle of nowhere (no offense to Casa Grande or its fine citizens), this lovely historic home and its grounds offer a terrific reason to get off the freeway and roam around a bit. The cactus garden, filled with species of cactus found all over the world, not just those indigenous to the Southwest, is utterly unique, and the small museum features Hohokam artifacts. Then again, most people just come for the Contemporary American food (prepared by owner Mike Jackson's son-in-law), which includes sandwiches and burgers at lunch, colossal olives (wrapped in bacon and stuffed with jalapeño cheese), cedar plank salmon, prime rib, steaks and chicken for dinner. Save room for the signature apple cake. Lunch Tues-Fri; Dinner Tues-Sat. $-$$
