Subtitled "A Food Experience," this lively, WiFi-furnished market-bistro at the Gainey Village Shops is all that its name suggests, offering house-baked bread, pastries and baked goods, imported and domestic cheeses, wines, fancy sodas, build-your-own sandwiches, rotisserie items, gelatos, fancy desserts and an impressive array of pre-prepared salads, sides and main dishes. You can eat in, take out or order from a separate menu in the bistro. Dish can be expensive, but it certainly doesn't have to be. It really all depends on what and how much your order. In the market, portion sizes are entirely up to you. It's also possible to ask for samples (the folks behind the counter are very accommodating) before committing to the dishes in the main case, so take advantage of that gracious feature. FYI: the bistro menu has been completely overhauled since my initial review and should be much better now. Market hours: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday through Thursday; 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Bistro hours: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday. $-$$
