Hottest November Ever?

Posted: Updated:

Well, we all know it's been a warm month. In the past week, we've tied or set a couple of daily records in Phoenix and it seems like it just hasn't cooled off like we expect this time of year. Couple that with a siginificant drying trend, and it's been a bust of a weather month.

So what about the record? So far, the average high in November is 83 degrees.....about 8 degrees above normal! And the average low is running 6 degrees above normal. And with the forecast to finish out the month calling for about average temps, there's almost no way were NOT going to break a record, making November 2006 the warmest on record.

How does that bode for the rest of the season as we transition into winter? The long range charts are still telling us warm and dry, for the most part, through January. By late February, we could see a significant shift in the weather pattern bringing us much wetter weather, but still weather with about average temperatures. Hope for that. Because if we miss out on a decent snow season in the mountains, are water storage situation will suffer.
