According to police, on Saturday, July 18, 2009 around 2:45 a.m., an unknown subject forced entry into the Optical Sciences Building located at 1630 E. University. Police say the suspect stole several antique monocles from the 1700's and 1800's which were on display in the lobby of the building.

On Friday, July 24, 2009, the stolen monoculars were turned in to UAPD by a person who found them on the ground while walking south of campus. Police say the suspect hasn't been caught and the investigation is ongoing.

The burglary suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old. Police say he has a thin build. He was last seen wearing a light colored head covering, white short sleeve t-shirt, dark jeans and his pants appeared tucked into his socks.
