A 27-year old man is dead after he attacked a Tucson Police sergeant on Wednesday, November 5. Police say Dwaine Holmes was shot to death by Sergeant Michael Merrill in a desert area near Speedway and Camino Seco shortly after 8 p.m.
Sergeant Merrill was treated and released from the hospital for injuries he received during the fight. He has been offered the option of taking paid administrative leave, which is routine in all officer-involved shootings.
