Better Business Bureau warns of telephone scam

Posted: Updated:

Two Tucson residents have reported receiving a telephone call originating in Connecticut from someone claiming to be with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). In one case the caller, who identified herself as Betty, offered to drastically reduce the person's mortgage rates, and in the other case claimed she could cut the person's credit card debt by at least 50%.

BBB reminds consumers never to provide personal or financial information over the phone to someone you don't know, and if you get this type of call to report it by calling 520-888-5353.
