Suspect arrested in OxyContin robberiesPosted: Updated:
A 30-year old man is under arrest, accused of a string of armed robberies of local pharmacies. David Martinez is being held in the Pima County Jail on numerous armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and kidnapping charges.
Investigators say Martinez is responsible for five such robberies within Tucson city limits, and two others that took place in Pima County outside the city, since May 26. In each of the robberies, the suspected demanded OxyContin, a powerful narcotic pain reliever similar to morphine.
