A 31-year old Tucson man was arrested after a DPS officer discovered $176,000 worth of marijuana in the back of his vehicle. Damaris Garcia is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, and transportation of marijuana for sale.
The drugs were found shortly before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, during a traffic stop on I-10 about 10 miles east of Tucson. Sixteen bales of marijuana weighing 320 pounds were seized. A passenger in the vehicle fled on foot, and a search for him was unsuccessful.
