Agents fired on at border by drug smugglerPosted: Updated:
A marijuana smuggling attempt was stopped on Monday, December 1, but not before one of the smugglers fired his gun at Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. A total of 1,100 pounds of marijuana were seized with an estimated street value of $1 million.
Gunfire then erupted from a person near a vehicle on the other side of the border, while other armed suspects came across the border and began throwing numerous bundles of marijuana back into Mexico. The suspects were able to set fire to one of the trucks before fleeing, but agents seized the other truck where the marijuana was discovered.
