Former teachers mourn loss of slain teenagerPosted: Updated:
Students at one area high school are going back to school without two of their classmates. One is dead, and the other is in jail, charged with killing her. 14-year old Alexandria Salinas was shot to death Saturday night, July 26, in her southeast-side home. She had just started her freshman year at Empire High School. In jail facing serious charges is another Empire student, her 15-year old step-brother.
In court documents released July 29, the alleged shooter, Shelden Pruitt said he didn't know the gun was loaded, and only wanted to scare his step-sister.
