Woman burned in midtown; suspect soughtPosted: Updated:
A woman was doused with a flammable liquid, possibly gasoline, in her midtown home Monday morning and set on fire.
Tucson Police say the 44-year old woman ran to neighbors who called 911.
Paramedics quickly got her to nearby University Medical Center, but doctors there said the woman was too unstable for treatment. She was flown to a burn center in Phoenix. She's reported in critical condition.
Police on the scene say the suspect is still on the loose. They describe him as an African-American male, approximately 50 years old, possibly wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt.
It's unclear if the victim knew the suspect.
The victim's home is in the 1600 block of West Grant Road. That's just west of Campbell Blvd.
More details as they are released and a full report tonight on Fox 11 News at Nine.
