Officers learn ways to fight drug traffickingPosted: Updated:
Over 80 police officers from more than two dozen law enforcement agencies attended a recent training seminar on how to fight drug trafficking on Arizona highways. The seminar was hosted by the San Carlos Apache Police Department and was the result of an ongoing partnership between the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Arizona High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Southwest Meth & Chemicals Initiative, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
"Now more than ever, we in law enforcement must take a coordinated approach to fighting the drug trafficking that has spread into our rural Arizona communities," said U.S. Attorney Diane Humetewa. "This training is part of an on-going effort to build on the resources of tribal, state, federal and local police agencies to turn this trend around."
