Ex-CBP employee pleads guilty to theft chargePosted: Updated:
A 37-year old Tucson man formerly employed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of government property. James Williams was accused of stealing a pair of night goggles worth almost $7,000 from CBP in 2007, selling them on ebay and keeping the proceeds.
Williams will be sentenced by Chief Judge John Roll on December 10. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both.
