Sweep of bad-check writers nets 11 arrests

Posted: Updated:

Eleven people were arrested and charged with writing bad checks during a county-wide sweep for bad-check writers by the Pima County Attorneys Office. Those arrested wrote nearly $44,000 worth of bad checks to local businesses and individuals.

The Bad Check Program routinely sends notices to bad-check writers notifying them of a warrant for their arrest and informing them of their options for quashing the warrant. Those arrested in the latest sweep had received a notice within the past month but did not pay full restitution or turn themselves in.
